Specs have leaked for the SM-G900P, expected to be the Sprint variant of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship. But the details reveal some surprising discrepancies versus earlier rumors.

The User-Agent Profile lists the SM-G900P as having:
- 1080p display instead of QHD resolution
- 2GB RAM
- Qualcomm MDM9615 modem from 2011
- 13MP rear, 2MP front cameras, lower than expected
- Android 4.2.2, not the latest version
These specifications don’t align with previous Galaxy S5 rumors of a QHD panel, 3GB RAM, 16MP camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
There are a few possibilities – the documentation could simply be placeholder specs, or represent an early prototype. Or this particular variant may differ from global Galaxy S5 models.
Samsung could also intentionally be limiting features on the Sprint version compared to unlocked models. Carriers sometimes influence the specs of their branded phones.
In any case, take these leaked specs with skepticism. Until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S5, details remain fluid and subject to change.
But, the SM-G900P documentation does suggest the Galaxy S5 rollout may involve region-specific variations that aren’t all created equal. Global buyers could see discrepancies.
