Samsung’s Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy S III may only be rolling out to select models, according to alleged information from Samsung’s Polish division.

The report indicates only the LTE versions of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy S III Mini with 2GB of RAM will receive the KitKat upgrade.
If true, this would limit the update to the GT-i9305 international Galaxy S III LTE model and Galaxy S III Mini LTE variants.
The claim has not been officially confirmed by Samsung Poland. But it suggests the 1.5GB RAM models of the S III may not get KitKat after all.
Samsung’s OS upgrade policies for older devices have been unpredictable in the past. So Galaxy S III owners will want official clarification on which models are eligible for KitKat.
For now, take this report of limited S III KitKat support with a grain of salt until Samsung Poland issues a formal response. But the possibility of restricted availability will no doubt frustrate Galaxy S III users eagerly awaiting Android 4.4.
