J.K. Shin, who if you are not familiar with the matter supervises the Samsung Mobile branch hinted in an interview with WSJ that GALAXY S5 outdistanced its predecessor sales. Shin mentioned that current sales numbers oscillate over 11 million units making it best best-selling GALAXY S device in history.
Said J.K. Shin suggesting that high sales numbers are driven by good results in developed regions like the U.S., Australia, and Germany and the features included in the new GALAXY S incarnation.
Interestingly, Mr Shin explaining the water/dust resistance feature mentioned statistics from service centers. Turns out that around 30 % of all devices were returned because people were spilling coffee over them or dropping them in water.
We had also a little peek at Samsung’s plans for the next generation of smartphone-tablet hybrid, thanks to Ms. Lee Younghee who is second in command at Samsung Mobile. Ms Lee mentioned that Samsung is considering a bendable display yet it is too early to decide and nothing is finalized in that matter.
Last but not least Samsung officials revealed June 12 as the launch date of the Samsung Tab S line which will be held at Madison Square Garden, New York and we will have a person at the spot so stay tuned!
