After much anticipation, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, a lighter version of its flagship Galaxy Note 3 phablet.
As expected, the Note 3 Neo comes in black, white, and green color options and will launch globally in February.
Specs-wise, the 3G model packs a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor while the LTE version steps up to a combination of dual 1.7GHz and quad 1.3GHz cores.
Other key features include a 5.5-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display, 16GB storage, microSD slot, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and 2600mAh battery. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The Note 3 Neo targets buyers who want the S Pen stylus and multitasking power of the Note series in a more affordable package. It forgoes premium features like the Note 3’s faux leather back and high-res screen.
With its official introduction, the Note 3 Neo fills an important gap in Samsung’s large-screen phone lineup. It gives stylus fans a lower-priced path to the Note experience starting next month.
Samsung didn’t reveal pricing but expects the Note 3 Neo to significantly undercut the $700+ Note 3 when it hits store shelves. The Note phablet line now caters to an even wider range of budgets.
