Plans for various biometrics even in low end devices! IRIS on the spotlight!
In and interview conducted today by the Wall Street Journal, Samsung’s senior vice president Rhee In-jong expressed shortly company’s vision on various biometrics in their future devices.
We’re looking at various types of biometric [mechanisms] and one of things that everybody is looking at is iris detection.
We, as a market leader, are following the market trend.
According to Mr Rhee In-jong biometric sensors might be used for mobile security even in low end devices. Data he presented shows that there are 87 million million deviecs on the market embedded with Knox with 1.8 million of them actively using it. Samsung looks forward to expand that number and compete with rivals like Blackberry in an enterprise market.
Some time ago i’ve disovered a Korean patent covering design of the unlock proecss using IRIS scanner. It is possible that we will see an IRIS scanner in this year Note 4 giving that Samsung starts to officially express their involvement with IRIS detection tehnology.
