J.K. Shin confirms good GALAXY S5 sales, his co-worker ‘spills some coffe’ on next phablet and reveals premiere date of Samsung Tab S line
J.K. Shin, who if you are not familiar with the matter supervises Samsung Mobile branch hinted in an interview with WSJ that GALAXY S5 outdistanced it’s predecessor sales. Shin mentioned that current sale numbers oscillate over 11 million units making it best selling GALAXY S device in history.
It’s been a month since we began selling the S5, and out of the gate, sales are much stronger than the Galaxy S4.
Said J.K. Shin suggesting that high sale numbers are driven by good results in developed regions like U.S., Australia, Germany and the features included in new GALAXY S incarnation.
It may not have eye-popping technology but the features are practical.
Interestingly, Mr Shin explaining the water/dust resistance feature mentioned statistics from service centers. Turns out that around 30 % of all devices were returned because people were spilling coffee over them or dropping them in water.
We had also a little peak at Samsung plans on next generation of smartphone-tablet hybrid, thanks to Ms Lee Younghee who is second in command at Samsung Mobile. Ms Lee mentioned that Samsung is considering a bendable display yet it is too early to decide and nothing is finalized in that matter.
Last but not least Samsung officials revealed June 12 as a launch date of Samsung Tab S line which will be held at Madison Square Garden, New York and we will have a person at the spot so stay tuned!
